We love hearing success stories about our campers. Here are some of our past campers who wanted to share what Kris' Camp has done for them! Mere words can't describe Kris' Camp. It is truly a wonderful experience for the whole family . The therapists that worked with our son Jamie are some of the most caring and dedicated people we have ever met. They treat each child with respect and dignity and help give them a sense of worth and confidence in themselves. In addition they used some different ways of communicating with our son that helped him to share how he was feeling and gave us insight into his world. Our younger children attended the sibling camp and were treated with the same caring and dedication. As parents of a two year old and three year old in addition to our autistic son, my husband and I welcomed the parental respite provided. For the first time in a year we really had time to just sit and talk and reconnect as a couple. Raising an autistic child can be an emotionally draining and overwhelming experience. Kris camp provides a chance for the whole family to relax, refresh and recharge in a family oriented atmosphere. Tyler has been making great progress since our week there, speaking more in complete sentences and even expressing his feelings! We gained a much greater understanding of his many sensory issues and are working harder on his daily sensory diet. We are also finding more creative ways to get him to cooperate more.Montana also benefited from sibling camp. I tell people it was great training for preschool. He's been more cooperative and better at listening when we participate in Gymboree classes. I would highly recommend Kris' Camp for a truly rewarding family experience. Other vacations become a disruption in our kids’ schedules, filled with a great deal of anxiety surrounding the unknown adventures each day brings.
